I am an Assistant Teaching Professor in the College of Education at the University of Missouri-Columbia. I hold a Ph.D. in Learning, Teaching, and Social Policy from Cornell University. I provide Burmese language interpreting services for public schools, and I have served as a consultant for several international organizations. I teach insight meditation at Show Me Dharma. My textbook, Teaching US History Thematically: Document-Based Lessons for the Secondary Classroom, will be published by Teachers College Press in 2017, and my novel, Have Fun in Burma, was published by Northern Illinois University Press in 2018. I live in Columbia, MO, with my husband and two children.
